The Uttar Pradesh government has started this Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana online registration for the marriage of daughters of families living below the poverty line.
Under this scheme, the Uttar Pradesh government has fixed a budget of about Rs 600 crore for the year 2024.
Last year, till September 2023, the Uttar Pradesh government had spent about Rs 77.87 crore on the weddings of 15268 couples.
Mass marriage is organized in every district of Uttar Pradesh, in which Rs 51,000 is spent on each couple. Out of these, Rs 35,000 is transferred to the daughter’s bank account, Rs 10,000 for the necessary items of marriage, and Rs 6,000 is spent for the event.
