On October 2, 2016, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme. The main objective of this scheme is to help the economically weak female students of Bihar get higher education. Through the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, a loan facility will be provided to 12th-pass girl students to pursue higher education and continue their studies. Through the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, students will be given loans up to Rs 4 lakh.

Objective of Bihar Student Credit Card Yojana
The main objective of starting the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme is to provide loan facilities to the poor and economically weak students of the state to continue their studies. So that students can complete their higher education. There are many families in Bihar whose children want to study further after 12th but are unable to study due to lack of money. To complete their studies, the Bihar Government will provide loan facilities to such students on 42 different types of courses like Graduation, BA, BSc, etc. under the Bihar Credit Card Scheme.
Benefits and Features of the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme
Under the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, a loan facility of up to Rs 4 lakh will be given to 12th-pass girl students for pursuing higher education. This loan amount can be used by the student to buy materials like books, stationery, and laptops and pay fees and after the student has worked for 1 year, this loan can be returned in 84 easy installments at a simple interest rate. Under the Bihar Student Credit Card Yojana, the interest amount has been fixed at 4%, and for women, transgender, and the disabled, the interest rate has been fixed at 1%.

- First of all, you go to the official website “MNSSBY” of the scheme.
- Now click on the option of ‘New Applicant Registration’.
- Now a new page will open in front of you where you have to fill in information like your first name, email ID, Aadhaar number, mobile number, etc.
- Now you have to click on the option of ‘Send OTP’. Now you will receive an OTP on the number you entered which you will have to enter.
- Now click on the option of ‘Submit’.
- Now you will receive a user ID and password on your email ID.
- Now go to the home page of your website and click on the login option. A new page will open in front of you, where you have to log in by entering your user ID, password, and captcha code.
- After login, you will have to click on the option of ‘Bihar Student Credit Card’ under the ‘Select Scheme’ menu.
- A form will open in front of you where you have to enter the required information like financial and general details etc. and click on the ‘Submit’ option.
