Janani Suraksha Yojana Objectives or Benefits
- Through Janani Suraksha Yojana, priority is given to states with low rates of delivery, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Rajasthan, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. Its main objective is to provide financial assistance, especially to women below the poverty line. These states are classified as low-performing states (LPS) and all as high-performing states (HPS).
- If a pregnant woman from a rural area gets her delivery done in a public health facility or a recognized private hospital, the payment after delivery will be Rs 1400/-. Cash assistance will be given. Similarly, if a pregnant woman in an urban area gives birth in a publicly recognized private hospital, cash assistance of Rs 1000/- will be given after delivery under the scheme.
- Pregnant women of the BPL category will get Rs 500/- after delivery at home. Cash assistance will be given. Under this scheme, in case DBT (Direct Bank Transfer) mode is implemented, the cash amount will be sent directly to the bank account of the pregnant woman.

Janani Suraksha Yyojana Eligibility
- Only pregnant women are eligible for financial assistance under this scheme.
- To apply for Janani Suraksha Yojana Pregnant women from both rural and urban areas are eligible.
- The age of the pregnant woman should be at least 19 years. Delivery must take place in a government-approved hospital.
- Along with financial assistance, medical assistance will also be arranged for the expectant mother.
- This janani suraksha yojana scheme has been started especially to provide financial assistance to economically deprived pregnant women.
- Benefits will also be provided in case of stillbirth, or premature or late delivery due to any reason.

Janani Suraksha Yojana Online Registration
Step 1: For Janani Suraksha Yojana online registration, women applicants must first go to the scheme’s official website and then click on the “Apply Online” link.
Step 2: Now the home page of the official website will open on your screen. Fill in the required information correctly in the form like the name of the pregnant woman, age, address, etc.
Step 3: A code will come to you which you need to save for future reference.
The details provided will be verified and the JSY card will be sent through post or to Asha workers. To proceed with the offline method, take a printout of the form and fill it out. Attach the relevant documents and submit them to the Asha or Anganwadi center.
