This campaign was started by the President of India Draupadi Murmu on 9 September. The main objective of this is to eliminate TB from India by 2025. Uttarakhand has set a target for itself to make its state TB-free by 2024, which shows our determination and commitment.
Under this Prime Minister TB Free India Campaign of the Government of India, any corporate entity, NGO, elected official, political party, institution, etc. can adopt a TB patient. After adopting a TB patient, the concerned person and organization will be responsible for all nutritional support of the patient. The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated in its global list of countries that the rate of Tuberculosis (TB) in India is very high, which is not good. This should happen as soon as possible, otherwise more than half of India’s population may become victims of this disease.
The objective of Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMB)
The main objective of Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is to help the poor TB patients of India by providing them with nutritious food. Because if TB patients do not get nutritious food, they will not be able to recover. Due to this, the country will suffer a lot. How will PMTBMB Operate?
Under this Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, some nutritious food will be given to TB patients to be distributed to the donors. This includes the assistance of 3.5 kg grains, 1 liter of cooking oil, 1.5 kg pulses, milk powder, eggs, fruits, vegetables, etc, in a month.
Ninelakhs Ready to get Support:
Many people in India have already started work on this. There are about 13.5 lakh TB patients in India. If we talk about the data, till now many people have given their consent to adopt these patients for one year. These people include 447 people, 122 non-profit organizations, 29 corporations, 19 institutions, 18 elected officials, 10 political parties and 4 cooperative societies etc.
